FAQs - About our Heaters & Radiators

How much do your heaters cost to run?

This is the most asked question when it comes to heating your home,
on average a typical three-bedroom semi-detached modern property installed with our electric radiators can cost as little as £1.89 per day.
This information is based on SAP's results from an independent energy assessor.

How much is this going to cost me?

To disconnect, remove and dispose of say four old storage heaters and replace with four Avant DGP programmable electric radiators would typically cost around £1,800 this includes all fixtures, fittings, testing and commissioning. (this is based on the assumption that the electrical circuits required for the new radiators meet British Standard BS7671 17th Edition)

Where can I use electric heaters?

Our range of electric radiators and electric towel rails can be used to provide a heating solution in a number of locations: Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Living & Dining Rooms, Kitchens, Conservatories, Extensions, Lofts, Shops, Offices and more. They are ideal to replacement old style storage heaters as well as being a neat solution for providing additional heating where adding to a plumbed in system is not an option.

Do the radiators need to be serviced?

No, our heaters require no maintenance simply wipe with a damp cloth.

Do the heaters have a thermostat?

Yes, all of our heaters are fitted with accurate thermostats.

How accurate are the thermostats?

The thermostats on the digitally controlled heaters are accurate to 0.3 of a degree and the thermostats on the manually controlled heaters are accurate to 1.0 degrees.

What are the radiators made from?

The towel rails are made from high quality steel with welded joints and the radiators are made from high quality cast aluminium.

How do the heaters work?

The radiators are filled with special thermodynamic fluid which is heated by an electrical element.

Can you use the heaters in a bathroom?

Our radiators can be used in the bathroom but it does depend on size and location.
The Colorado Electric Towel Rail is more suited for use in the bathroom.

Can I hang clothes on the heaters?

Clothes can only be hung on the Colorado Electric Towel Rail and should not be placed on any other radiators.

Can the towel radiator be timed to come on?

Yes, with the Infrared remote programmer.

Can I programme any of the other radiators in your range?

Yes, the Avant DGP, Vitro and Colorado heaters all offer 24hr / 7 day program facilities.

Do I need to buy the Infrared Remote Programmer?

No, it is an optional extra but it is very convenient.

How many remotes do I need?

One Infrared remote programmer will program all compatible radiators.

Are the heaters tamper proof?

All or our heaters except the Avant A have a tamper proof facility
